Product Description

Scratch-off Inks are specialized coating inks designed for applications that require to hide a message, code, or prize. It is most often used for promo cards where prizes are concealed and revealed through scratching off the top layer.

Recommended Curing Parameters

Air Drying (Solvent Evaporation)

  • Temperature: 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F)
  • Time: 30 minutes to several hours

Heat Curing

  • Temperature: 60°C to 150°C (140°F to 302°F)
  • Time: 10 to 30 minutes (can vary)
  • Equipment: Conveyor dryers, batch ovens, infrared heaters

UV Curing

  • Temperature: 300 to 400 mJ/cm²
  • Time: Few seconds to a minute (can vary)
  • Equipment: Mercury vapor, metal halide, or LED UV Lamps

Clean-Up

Apply the solvent cleaner to a clean cloth or wipe and then gently wipe the screen and other tools used to dissolve and remove ink residues. Repeat this process until the materials used are clean.

Product Safety, Handling and Storage

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and sources of heat. Keep containers tightly shut to prevent evaporation and contamination.

General Considerations

Low Humidity: For faster more consistent curing.

Adequate Ventilation: Ensure safe evaporation of solvents.

Substrate Pre-treatment: To improve ink adhesion and curing efficiency.

Post-Curing: To ensure complete ink durability, expose to another curing phase.

To check the quality of adhesion, allow 24 hours of curing period for the ink to adhere to the substrate or material before doing any tape test or rub test.
